The original Star Adventurer Course did a great job of teaching people how to actually use the tracker for both Milky Way and Deep Space astrophotography. However, there wasn't a great way to watch the videos online. I originally used Vimeo, but the platform left a lot to be desired. In early 2022 I learned about a website called Howtube.com, which is designed for learning new hobbies. After some testing, I realized this would be the perfect place to launch my new courses. So, in 2022 I re-recorded my courses with the latest techniques and recommendations. I also combined all of my Star Tracker Courses into two different options, depending on your interests.
First up we have the Milky Way Course. This course has over 60 videos that cover Planning, Camera Gear, Camera Settings, On-Location, and Post-Processing. This should give a comprehensive overview of Milky Way photography! I also show exactly how I use my Star Adventurer to take Milky Way photos.
If you're interested in Deep Space Astrophotography, then you'll want to check out my Deep Space Course. It has over 90 videos, which will take you through the entire process of using the Star Adventurer for photographing nebulae and galaxies. As you reach the limits of the tracker, I'll show you how to incorporate an auto-guider to get the best performance from your Star Adventurer. Finally, we'll discuss the benefits of a Go-To Mount and dedicated astro camera. This can have a big impact on your astro images, if you're up for a new challenge.
